CSS ON THE CREATORS PROJECT

CSS have been Yay Or Nay's favourite band since we saw them jumping around like children on Redbull at Glastonbury in 2007. Lovefoxx in a yellow metallic jumpsuit is still our favourite girl crush moment. These guys care less about being taken seriously as musicians and more about having fun and putting on a show with some amazing outfits and set pieces.

The band have teamed up with The Creators Project to explain how digital technology has allowed them to progress from recording music in their own houses to playing to global audiences. Yay Or Nay's favourite part is when their studio is invaded by dogs but they keep the barking on the track because they thought it was funny.

This project is all about how the grand narratives of the 20th century are being replaced by a free and democratic new art form which has been made available by digital technology. In the video CSS have a cut-out of Britney Spears on the stage during a gig. A perfect metaphor, if one was needed, for the freedom of new music in comparison for the "created" acts of the last century.

PROHIBITION PARTY

This weekend Yay or Nay slinked off to the countryside for a night of clandestine debauchery. Girls in flapper dresses and feather head accessories partied like it was 1922 alongside dapper gentlemen who smoked cigars and discussed the prohibition. The flapper look is all about displaying a disdain for social norms with excessive make-up and a bad-ass attitude that says "I'm free and easy and I just don't give a f*ck."

The night was spent listening to jazz, doing the Charleston and over-indulging on rum, because misbehaving is always so much more fun when you know what you are doing is illegal.

SEX AND THE CITY 2

The most painful thing Yay or Nay has ever had to watch by far. This movie is about as close to its roots as SJP's hair colour and any real issues more airbrushed over than the girl's faces in the poster...

The free-spirit and real magic of Carrie's character has been smothered by first class flights and seven star hotels. A much needed reminder to Yay or Nay why they need to stay in economy class, smuggle vodka in a hip flask and share a single bed in hostels.

ALFIE'S NOSTALGIA SATURDAYS

This weekend we headed over to Alfie's Antique Market in Marylebone with our friends Style Cramp for a day of good ol' fashioned Rock n' Roll. Over the next couple of months the market will be celebrating a different style era and this week it was the 40s and 50s.

The market was a treasure trove of vintage finds including this gorgeous nautical body from The Girl Can't Help It - a specialist store selling 50s pinup and American Classics.

Like any respectable treasure trail, we were given a map to help us along our way. What we found were a wonder of drool-inducing clothes and accessories, leather trunks that recalled a long-gone era of glamorous train travel, a rockabilly band and even a 19th Century Time Lord who told us how he liked to spend his days whipping the peasantry.

GIANMARCO LORENZI PRESS DAY

Gianmarco Lorenzi showcased his Autumn/Winter '10 collection of lust worthy Italian shoes at Home House today and had the fashion set sighing wistfully over his beautiful creations.
The designer has a huge celebrity following and has designed custom-made shoes for queen of bling Beyonce's last tour. And with the opening the first Gianmarco Lorenzi British store in South Molton street last year the brand is sure to be gaining more attention from the fashion press in the up-coming seasons.
Clearly the only heel to be seen in this year is the pencil heel - anything fatter than an HB just won't cut it. Get prepared to see girls wobbling around in them on a street near you soon...
