I'M FEELING TEXXY!

YoN has been getting all inspired by next season's colours, especially OPI's new Texas collection which was unveiled this morning two days before it is shown in the States! The mega bright colours have hilarious names like Do You Think I'm Tex-y and Big Hair...Big Nails which pretty much sums up the feeling for next season. It's time to have fun with nails, the more outrageous the better. If it wouldn't look out of place on Lady Gaga then you've got it just about right.
Continuing on a trend.. YoN was inspired by WAH nails to try my own nail art design using OPI...

AMERICANA

For this look think America's Sweethearts going on a date in the local diner in the 50s. Girl's can channel their inner-cheerleader and go for the wholesome sweetie-pie look with cute mini-skirts, girly polka-dot and heart prints and bright headscarves. For the bad-asses out there, go for a leather jacket for instant attitude. Guys should recreate the over-styled quiff whether they are playing the quarter-back with a vintage varsity jacket or the T-Bird smoking a cigarette behind the bleachers.

SAINT FOR THE DESPERATE

.jpg)
As if YoN needed another reason to run away to Mexico, Vice has informed me that the 28th of each month is San Judas Tadeo day. San Judas Tadeo is the patron saint of lost causes and desperate cases and every month people gather at the St Hipolito church on Avenida de la Reforma to celebrate him. YoN loves an underdog but especially loves an underdog getting all dressed up in their best Mexican style. Ed Hardy shirts with hot pants and lashings of fleoro. YAY!

MAC VENOMOUS VILLAINS
A potion to poison, an apple to bite, a spell to cast and a style to follow.

As much as every little girl wants to be a Disney Princess, when we grow up, we begin to realise that being the villain is so much cooler. Why would we want to flounce around singing to birds and cleaning up after seven annoying little men when we could cast spells and do our make-up in a magic mirror?
The good people at MAC have been teasing us with rumours of a Disney collaboration for a while now and today the Venomous Villains Collection finally hits stores. The blood red lipstick in particular is perfect for hatching an evil plan and seducing the King. Snow White doesn't stand a chance.

WAH NAILS

WAH Nails are, in their own words, "One badass nail salon based in London." While their flagship Salon is based in Hipster heaven Dalston, they have been sexifying young London's nails in their Topshop outpost in Oxford Circus for a while now. Starting out in 2005 as a collective of young female artists, the WAH movement aims to combine unique nail art with cutting edge culture, fashion and music.
The WAH girls take random inspiration from, among other things, American vintage, grimy clubs, comics, gemstones and anything sparkly and fabulous!

Tonight they are working at Oxjam at Coronet Theatre SE1. With all designs at the bargain price of £15 and all proceeds going to charity, there is really no excuse not to!
